You can use up to 6 heading tags per page.

Can we use multiple h2 tags on a page?

For h1 use high ranking keywords and don’t create multiple h1 create only one h1 tag per page but you can use multiple h2 tags on a page if you have subtopics.  But I will suggest you use different keywords in subheading this will help in indexing of keywords in search engines.

You can manually select the header h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 from the post or pages drop down menu. This is very important for every website owner to optimize header properly for search engines.
